No Record of Her (Main Theme)

The witnesses remain

Narrative adaptation from the story bible

Grey morning moved across the carriage window. The city thinned into blue strips. Red lamps still glowed in the rooms left behind, where people kept the name they had heard.

The main theme returns to the journey: a face recognised at the border; a stranger’s choice; a voice outlasting a closed line; ink remaining after the screen goes dark.

The end titles give Elise no new mission and do not claim Kern has already been punished. Her official life has not been restored. But her absence can no longer pass for an accident with no author.

The title still sounds: ‘No Record of Her.’ Its meaning has changed. The name in the testimony now belongs to the person who built the disappearance.

The record is absent. The witnesses remain.
