Barefoot

The pages in front of her stand for other people's faces, homes and lives. Her old cover no longer protects her. The people asking the questions expect a list and believe her resistance is coming to an end.

She changes her approach. She acknowledges her own choice and accepts responsibility, but refuses to surrender anyone else's name. Her name becomes the boundary they will not be allowed to cross.

The bridge reveals the cost of that resolve. She wants years with the man she loves, unguarded air and a life beyond this room. Fear remains. After the silence, she returns to her decision with the full force of the final chorus.

The German version brings the statement into the heroine's own language: Mein Name reicht. It carries the weight of a personal choice spoken in the face of power.

The Russian cover and Russian original share the same lyrics.

In plain words

A song about the limits of personal responsibility. She can answer for her own actions without giving away another person's life. Her strength is heard alongside fear and the wish to live. Her own name becomes a shield for others. The hook was written for the song to express that choice. Guitar-led orchestral soul-rock: a heavy riff, driving bass, studio rock drums and an expansive melodic chorus. My name is all you need / Let them be free.
